Metal-008 Pair Antique Shutter Dogs $24.00 A pair of antique cast iron shutter dogs or hold backs with scroll design. These were used to keep the shutters from being blown shut. They are as they were found in an old shed, need to be wire brushed and painted. A few sets are available. Great for that restoration project.

The base is approx. 3-1/4 inches high, the feet are about 4-3/4 inches across the front. The flat top is approx. 2 inches square. The porcelain insert is wired in, looks to be original due to the shape of the insert, but I can't swear to it. May have been reworked a long time ago. A very interesting piece though.
